Making Your First Request
This guide walks you through a complete end-to-end example. By the end you will have listed brands from the Seddi API.
Prerequisites
- A valid API key — see Authentication
curlinstalled, or any HTTP client of your choice
Step 1 — Set your API key
Store your key in an environment variable so you don't have to type it on every command:
export SEDDI_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"
Step 2 — Make a request
List brands:
curl "https://seddi-public-api-gateway-91po835h.uc.gateway.dev/data/v1/brands" \
-H "x-api-key: $SEDDI_API_KEY"
Step 3 — Inspect the response
A successful response returns HTTP 200 with a JSON body containing the brand list. For example:
{
"data": [
{ "brand": "Gildan" },
{ "brand": "Bella + Canvas" },
{ "brand": "Comfort Colors" },
{ "brand": "Next Level" }
],
"meta": { "page": 1, "pageSize": 20 }
}
Examples in other languages
JavaScript (fetch)
const response = await fetch(
'https://seddi-public-api-gateway-91po835h.uc.gateway.dev/data/v1/brands',
{
headers: {
'x-api-key': process.env.SEDDI_API_KEY,
},
}
);
const data = await response.json();
console.log(data);
Python (requests)
import os
import requests
response = requests.get(
'https://seddi-public-api-gateway-91po835h.uc.gateway.dev/data/v1/brands',
params={'page': 1, 'page_size': 20},
headers={'x-api-key': os.environ['SEDDI_API_KEY']},
)
response.raise_for_status()
print(response.json())
TypeScript (axios)
import axios from 'axios';
const { data } = await axios.get(
'https://seddi-public-api-gateway-91po835h.uc.gateway.dev/data/v1/brands',
{
params: { page: 1, page_size: 20 },
headers: { 'x-api-key': process.env.SEDDI_API_KEY },
},
